Hey, it’s Charles Gaudet here… I want you to know what happened to me after I sent last week’s “confession” email…
(You know, the one where I talked about “disappearing” for several months… if you missed it, you can read it here)
It’s important I share this because there’s a big lesson in it for you…
Let’s start with the good news…
No matter how uncomfortable it was for me to admit my “mishap,” I owed you a straight answer…
Rather than taking the popular “guru” approach and feeding you a line of B.S. to cover up my mistake…
I gave you the hard truth (even if it was embarrassing).
The result?
Many, many emails welcoming me “back” and thanking me for my vulnerable admission.
I earned their trust… and their respect.
And in many ways, my “tribe” got stronger.
You see, too many people expect you to make excuses when you make a mistake…
So, when you own up to your blunders, you take people by surprise…
And they love you more because of it.
Now the bad news…
Take one guess what happens when you don’t regularly communicate with your prospects…
As you may imagine, a certain number of them forget:
- What you offer
- Who you are
- Why they signed up for your email list
It makes me sad to think that I ignored them, instead of serving and providing an opportunity to increase their wealth… Hence the confession.
Now, a few moved on… But I can’t fault them for behaving in the way I knew some people would.
