Eventually I might get over it – but every time I pick up the newspaper, walk through the airport, turn on the TV, flip through a magazine, or pass by a banner ad designed by some clueless “advertising expert” – it irritates me to the point of utter disgust!

Just pick up the newspaper and look at the type of advertising you see… big, inefficient, brand-type advertising.

And this type of advertising is what “advertising experts” tell us works!?!

In fact, this is the type of advertising that gets awards…

…and it’s the type of advertising that’s sexy

…and it might even make you laugh.

Crazy enough, some entrepreneurs are hypnotized into believing this type of advertising actually works!

So they invest in the Yellow Pages, magazines, or newspapers using ads that simply say their company name, a brief description of the services they offer, a phone number, and website address.

Even though they are doing the same stuff the “advertising experts” claim works, they aren’t getting any calls.

Meanwhile, many strategic entrepreneurs using smart, direct response advertising strategies (like the ones we discuss in the Insiders’ Club) achieve a massive return on their investment -making more money than their competitors and using a portion of it to reinvest in other advertising… earning even more business, and setting the groundwork for total market domination!

Take a look at this typical institutional ad. If you were in the market to buy a truck, would this make you want to buy a Ram?

Direct response advertising makes you an offer, gives you a deadline, and tracks your response.

Which advertisement do you think is more expensive?

Answer: Dodge’s

Which advertisement do you think makes more money?

Answer:  MyPillow

How do we know? There’s no way of knowing if Dodge’s ad is profitable! With direct response advertising, it’s measurable, quantifiable, and trackable. Michael knows how much money he’s making with this advertisement, and as a result, he runs the same advertisement week after week.

One thing is for sure: after reading Michael’s direct response advertisement,  I want to buy a pillow (a response not inspired by Dodge’s ad … gee, do you think this might have contributed to their financial hardship? Spending $2.9 billion on this crap is financial suicide!)
